Mount Tahan is located within Taman Negara Gunung Tahan in Malaysia and is part of the Tahan Mountain Range. At 2,187 meters high, it is the tallest peak on the Malay Peninsula, standing majestically and imposingly.

In Malay, "Gunung" means "mountain," and "Tahan" means "endurance." As the name implies, this is a mountain that requires a certain level of stamina to climb, which is why many consider Mount Tahan one of the most challenging peaks to conquer on the Malay Peninsula. It is the central highlight of Taman Negara Gunung Tahan and not easy to scale. The Kuala Tahan trail is the oldest and best scenic route, typically requiring about seven days for a round trip. Hikers must cross numerous ridges and rivers before reaching the base of the mountain, and only then can they ascend to the summit to take in the breathtaking panoramic views of Malaysia.
