Located near the mouth of the Kuantan River and facing the South China Sea, Kuantan is the capital of Pahang state in Malaysia — a vibrant and bustling city. Kuantan is famous for its fried fish slices and salted fish. The salted fish is prepared by curing the fish with salt and drying it in the sun for several days. The satay sauce sold at night markets is also highly popular, along with other local delicacies such as naan bread and grilled chicken — all guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
