Introduction Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a renowned Buddhist temple en route to Doi Suthep Mountain. It was built in the 14th century within the beautiful gardens of the Lanna Kingdom. The temple houses Thailand’s largest bronze Buddha statue, and its other structures are also grand in scale. The main hall features a three-tiered roof, and behind it are large and small chedi (stupas), some of which contain the ashes of Thai kings. A major religious festival is held here every year on April 13–14.
