Hanbiseong Hall

Designated as the 15th Tangible Cultural Property of North Jeolla Province, Hanbiseong Hall is a villa built in 1404 by Choi Cham, a founding father and civil official of the Joseon Dynasty, also known as Woltang. Hanbiseong Hall is located on the cliffs of Seonam Mountain, boasting breathtaking surroundings, particularly the meandering Namcheon River, which is especially picturesque.

In ancient times, many literati and poets visited this place seeking inspiration for their creations. The “Hanbiseong Morning Mist,” referring to the beautiful clouds and mist viewed from Hanbiseong Hall, was also ranked as one of the Eight Scenic Views of Jeonju.

Directions: From Jeonju Express Bus Terminal and Jeonju Suburban Bus Terminal: When departing from Jeonju Express Bus Terminal, get off at Korea National Open University and take Bus 73, 82, or 84 to Hanbiseong Hall (takes about 40 minutes), then walk for about 10 minutes. When departing from Jeonju Suburban Bus Terminal, take Bus 73, 82, or 84 to Hanbiseong Hall via Geumam Rotary (takes about 40 minutes), then walk for about 10 minutes. From Jeonju Station: Take city buses 21, 111, or 163 to Hanbiseong Hall (takes about 1 hour), then walk for about 10 minutes.
