National Jeonju Museum

The National Jeonju Museum is situated in Hyoja-dong 2-ga, Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, South Korea. It serves as a center for the study, preservation, and exhibition of the cultural heritage of the North Jeolla region. Established on October 26, 1990, the museum boasts a collection of more than 24,000 cultural artifacts, mainly excavated relics from the North Jeolla region, including those from the prehistoric era and the Mahan and Baekje periods. In addition, it includes Buddhist art, ceramics, metalwork, handicrafts, and folk materials, with over 1,100 items on display in the permanent exhibition halls.

The National Jeonju Museum has two floors. The first floor houses the Ancient History Hall and the Special Exhibition Hall. The second floor contains the Art Hall and the Folklore Hall. The Art Hall mainly displays artworks from or related to the North Jeolla region and is further divided into smaller sections featuring Buddhist sculptures, metal crafts, Goryeo ceramics, Joseon ceramics, historical documents, and paintings.

Opposite the Art Hall is the Folklore Hall, which is divided into thematic exhibition areas such as farming life, food culture, and folk art. Visitors can explore the distinctive lifestyle of the North Jeolla region here.
