Sky Dream Fukuoka

Sky Dream Fukuoka, abbreviated as SDF, is one of the largest and most famous Ferris wheels in the world. It stands 120 meters tall and has a diameter of 112 meters, making it the fourth-largest Ferris wheel in the world after the Singapore Flyer, the Star of Nanchang in China, and the British Airways London Eye. The Ferris wheel was initially opened in December 2001 on the western outskirts of Fukuoka City in Kyushu, Japan. It was part of the popular Evergreen Marinoa shopping and entertainment complex in Kyushu. Later, due to expansion needs of the Marinoa area, the Ferris wheel was eventually sold to Taiwan’s Lihpao Land (Yuehmei Amusement World) and was relocated and reconstructed there by 2010.

A full rotation of Sky Dream Fukuoka takes 20 minutes. All cabins are fully enclosed and equipped with air conditioning, with each cabin accommodating up to eight passengers. On clear days, riders can enjoy views of modern cityscapes, including Fukuoka Tower, as well as nearby islands such as Nokonoshima and Shikanoshima across Hakata Bay. It is believed that after being moved to Lihpao Land in Taichung City, Sky Dream Fukuoka will continue to offer visitors stunning views of the Taichung urban landscape from above.
