Omuta City

Omuta City is the southernmost city in Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, and is the fifth most populous city in the prefecture. It shares a common living area with neighboring Miyama City, as well as Kurume City, Minamikyushu City, and Nagasu Town in Kumamoto Prefecture, maintaining especially close ties with Kurume City to the south, which is in Kumamoto Prefecture.

Many historical sites in Omuta City have been designated as National Historic Sites or Important Cultural Properties, including the Sakata Kyōrai Bridge, Miike Coal Mine Miyahara Pit Ruins, Haganomae Kofun, and Miike Coal Mine Mantani Pit Ruins. In addition, visitors can explore Omuta City Zoo, Miyaura Coal Memorial Park, Suwa Park, Omuta City Coal Industry Science Museum, Miike Park, Amagi Mountain, Pukujo Temple, Teirin Temple, Miike Mountain, Ansho Temple, and Kurosaki Park.
