Okinawa Pineapple Park

Okinawa Pineapple Park, also known as "Nago Pineapple Park," is located in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture. It is a pineapple-themed amusement park renowned worldwide for cultivating over 100 varieties of pineapples, offering visitors the chance to learn everything about this tropical fruit.

The northern part of Okinawa Island has long been known for its thriving pineapple production, as the region’s acidic red soil is ideal for growing pineapples, making Okinawa Japan’s only pineapple-producing area. This park boasts years of pineapple cultivation history and expertise. Initially, it focused solely on planting and selling pineapples, but in 1992, it became home to Japan’s first pineapple distillery. Visitors can tour the extensive pineapple fields and subtropical plant gardens aboard a pineapple-shaped vehicle (the Pineapple Train), and enjoy freshly picked pineapples to their heart’s content. The tropical garden showcases around 500 varieties of stunning pineapple flowers. Additionally, there are about 1,000 species of tropical plants and fruit trees, including tall sago palms, anthuriums, bird’s nest ferns, mangoes, canistels, and bananas—offering an overwhelming sight. At the pineapple distillery, guests can observe the pineapple wine-making process and sample freshly brewed pineapple wine.

The park’s shops also offer a wide array of pineapple-themed desserts, while the restaurant serves pineapple curry—an irresistible local specialty you can only enjoy here.
