The season for cherry blossoms is usually from March to April every year—that’s something most people know. But if we told you that you can already see cherry blossoms in Japan by the end of January, do you know where?

What we’re introducing today is the Okinawa Cherry Blossom Festival in Japan. The local cherry blossoms belong to the “Kanhizakura” variety, which typically blooms from late January to early February—just in time for our Lunar New Year, hence also known as “New Year’s Day Cherry Blossoms,” carrying auspicious symbolism.
