Kadena U.S. military base
Kadena Air Base is the largest strategic U.S. Air Force base in the Far East. Located in the southwestern part of Okinawa Island, it covers an area of 19.976 square kilometers. It is the largest U.S. air force installation in the Far East, currently hosting over 9,000 military personnel.
The base is fully equipped with barracks, communication facilities, residential areas, a golf course, a cinema, and schools, among others. There are three F-15 fighter squadrons, one early warning aircraft squadron, and eight KC-135 aerial refueling tankers deployed at the base. An observation deck near the base offers a clear view of the American fighter jets stationed there.
