The New Zealand National Aquarium, also known as the "Napier Aquarium," is located in Napier, Hawke's Bay Region. It opened in Napier in 1976 and welcomed 230,000 visitors in its first year — remarkable, considering Napier had only a population of 50,000 at the time, making it extremely popular.

The New Zealand National Aquarium is the largest marine life aquarium in New Zealand, home to a variety of New Zealand marine creatures and unique wildlife such as stingrays, live coral, kiwi birds, and tuatara. Visitors can swim with sharks, feed lively fish, observe native New Zealand wildlife, and fully immerse themselves in this magical underwater world, like a joyful little fish swimming through the ocean depths. This colorful aquarium offers significant educational value — children can not only enjoy the vibrant marine life but also learn about ocean creatures and wildlife.

The New Zealand National Aquarium is open daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with the last admission at 4:30 PM. It is open year-round except for Christmas Day.
