Aotea Square is a public square located in Auckland's Central Business District. Opened in 1979, it covers an area of 4,500 square meters and is used for concerts and cultural performances, public gatherings, as a large market venue, and ——.

Aotea Square is Auckland’s largest outdoor square, capable of holding 20,000 people. The square features a series of artworks, including an entrance arch called “Waharoa” at the plaza’s entry, made from timber and copper. It represents a traditional Māori gateway entrance, symbolizing birds, fish, crescent moons, stars, and also serves as a symbol of removing ——, reflecting the significant influence of modern elements on New Zealand art. In addition, the square also houses bronze statues of Māori warriors, a statue of an Indian Viceroy, as well as fountains.

Aotea Square is planted with a large area of native trees, with benches shaded by their foliage available for visitors to rest. There are also stretches of lush green lawns where visitors can lie down and enjoy the sunshine or sit with a book, immersing themselves in the sea of knowledge.
