Piha Beach is located on the west coast of Auckland and is one of New Zealand’s best surfing beaches, as well as one of the finest spots to watch the sunset. Every day, the beach gathers countless surfers who come to challenge the ocean and conquer themselves.

There are many rugged cliffs and rocky outcrops around Piha Beach, but the most striking feature is a large rock in the water called Lion Rock. It stands majestically in the sea, quietly guarding this pristine land. The beach is covered with blackish-red sand and often shrouded in mist, giving off an untouched, primeval vibe—as if you've stepped into a fairyland. Piha Beach is not ideal for swimming or sunbathing, but it's perfect for feeling the sea breeze and experiencing the mystery of nature. It’s the best place to watch the sunset, and while a camera may not be able to capture all its beauty, its magnificence is forever etched in our memories.

Piha Beach is also an excellent training ground for lifeguards. Every weekend, you can see groups of young trainees coming here for instruction. It generally takes them about ten years of training to become skilled lifeguards.
