Greg Fisher Gallery

The Greg Fisher Gallery is part of the University of Auckland’s Faculty of Creative Arts and Industries. Established in 2005, it aims to showcase both contemporary and historical art while learning from international sources and attracting outstanding knowledge in modern visual arts.

The gallery is one of the University of Auckland’s most valuable and cherished assets, making significant contributions to teaching and research, primarily to cultivate creative artists and encourage students in their practice and development of visual arts. It mainly exhibits works by contemporary artists from New Zealand and the Pacific region, including a large number of paintings and numerous sculptures created by renowned New Zealand watercolor artist Frances Hodgkins, New Zealand’s greatest artist Colin McCahon, Ralph Hotere, and others. Each artwork in the gallery is a labor of love by New Zealand artists, filled with fresh colors and offering great inspiration, playing an important role in awakening and expanding students’ artistic sensibilities.

The Greg Fisher Gallery is free to visit and open to the public from 10:00 to 17:00 on Tuesdays to Fridays, and from 12:00 to 16:00 on Saturdays. Visitors interested in New Zealand art can plan their visit accordingly.
