Howick Historical Village is a small historic village located in the Howick district of Auckland, recreating the original appearance of a British colonial village over a hundred years ago. It brings to life the daily experiences of early European settlers in Auckland between 1840 and 1880, telling an indelible historical story under the blue skies of the Southern Hemisphere.

Covering an area of about 7 acres, Howick Historical Village features more than 30 colonial-era buildings of various kinds, including cottages, schools, churches, blacksmith shops, general stores, and military tents. It's a living museum that presents scenes from the past, transporting visitors back to the 19th century with its classic charm. Guests can explore diverse architectural styles and peek into period rooms such as bedrooms, studies, dining rooms, nurseries, and kitchens. Faded wallpaper, vintage pianos, elegant tea sets, nostalgic wall hangings — all showcase the lifestyle of European settlers at the time. The village also displays over 2,000 artifacts from 1850 to 1920, such as military uniforms, ladies' dresses, nightgowns, shawls, scarves, gowns, hats, shoes, bags, sheets, tablecloths, and embroidery. Additionally, there is a collection of 19th-century paintings, porcelain, glassware, furniture, kitchenware, and tools.

To better serve visitors, Howick Historical Village offers guided tours in English, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese. The village opens to visitors at 10:00 AM, with the latest entry time at 4:00 PM. It is open year-round except on Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, and ANZAC Day.
