Taking a ferry from Star Ferry Pier in Tsim Sha Tsui to Wan Chai is a very convenient route. It only takes two or three minutes to walk to the Convention and Exhibition Centre after disembarking. Moreover, the ferry is inexpensive (HK$2.2) and offers the thrill of crossing Victoria Harbour.

Introduction

Located at 1 Expo Drive in Wan Chai, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is one of the representative buildings in the area’s newest developments. In addition to hosting major conferences and exhibitions, it also houses two hotels, one office tower, and one luxury residential building. Its new wing, built on reclaimed land, includes several large auditoriums and exhibition halls spread across three floors, making it one of the world’s largest exhibition venues. The handover ceremony of Hong Kong’s return to China on July 1, 1997, was held here, drawing international attention. Its distinctive bird-like wing design adds charm to the beautiful Victoria Harbour. The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre frequently hosts business meetings, pop-up exhibitions, fashion shows, and more. Additionally, the daily flag-raising ceremony at 8 a.m. has become a major attraction.
