Hong Kong’s Staircase Streets

The Duddell Street Staircase is the largest stone staircase connecting Ice House Street and Duddell Street. The gas lamps at the foot of the staircase were built between 1875 and 1889, and are the oldest of Hong Kong's only remaining four historic gas street lamps. You can take the MTR to Central Station, then exit at Landmark to reach Ice House Street, where you’ll see Queen’s Road, then walk west along Queen’s Road—Duddell Street is the first alley on your right. Many Hong Kong films and TV dramas have been shot here, giving it a familiar feel to many visitors.
