Central Plaza — a very misleading name indeed, because Central Plaza is not located in Central, but stands proudly in Wan Chai. However, there is also a building in Central named Central Plaza (Central Plaza Tower), which makes it very easy to confuse the two.

If you look carefully, you’ll notice that its top has several panels that frequently change colors. In fact, this is a clock that displays specific colors at certain times.

You may not agree, but Central Plaza can be considered one of the most elegant skyscrapers in Hong Kong. Its triangular design is sleek and simple, and its top resembles an Egyptian pyramid. The blue and gold color scheme further adds to its refined appearance.

Quick Facts:

It stands 374 meters (or 1,227 feet) tall and was completed in 1992.

It is currently the second tallest building in Hong Kong, having been surpassed as the tallest by the newly built International Finance Centre Phase 2.

Central Plaza is located at the rear of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
