Introduction: Due to the concentration of modern glaciers, the typical glacial landforms and sediments, and the well-preserved and clear ancient glacial relics, Glacier No. 1 is known as the "living fossil of glaciers." It has become the best site in China for observing and studying both modern and ancient glacial remains.

By taking a vehicle south along National Highway 216, you can get close to Glacier No. 1. Here, you’ll find a pale blue, crystal-clear glacial silver waterfall. In front of the glacier tongue, there is an over 80-meter-long ice cave carved by researchers, resembling the silver palace of Snow White in a fairy tale. Marmots can be spotted along the surrounding cliffs, and if you’re lucky, you might even see snow lotus. On the round trip, you can enjoy the unique scenery of the Tianshan vertical landscape zones.
