The Yongning Temple Thousand Buddha Relic Pagoda is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Yongning Temple Thousand Buddha Relic Pagoda is located in the west courtyard of Yongning Temple, Nanzhaizhai Village, Qinyou Township, ten meters in front of the "Ten Thousand Buddhas Hall." It is an iron-and-stone hybrid structure pagoda, octagonal with thirteen stories, standing 26.8 meters tall and with a diameter of 8.6 meters.

The pagoda is built on a 1.5-meter-high platform, covering an area of 220 square meters, with its base surrounded by white marble railings. The carvings are exquisitely crafted, featuring free and natural patterns resembling floral stones. The main body of the pagoda sits centrally, with eight sides and eight angles. The southern side has a door that leads into the pagoda chamber. The other seven sides feature images of Amitabha Buddha, who carries a lotus pedestal and steps on a lotus flower, guiding souls. The first level is entirely constructed from white marble. Above the Buddha images is an unfurled scripture inscribed with the words: “Scripture soars with joy,” repeated on all eight sides. The next level up depicts intertwined Buddha hands, symbolizing: “Success through unity in all directions.” Above that is the pagoda door lintel, adorned with an illustration of the solar system in motion, rotating eastward. It includes: 1. Guanyin holding a vase of pure water, 2. Heavenly horses galloping through the clouds, 3. The Eight Immortals crossing the sea, 4. The Buddha preaching the Dharma, 5. The Heavenly Palace, 6. The battle between Nezha and Sun Wukong, 7. The journey of Tang Sanzang and his disciples to retrieve Buddhist scriptures. Each image is backed by green jade for contrast. The topmost level features joyful Buddha hands holding a night-blooming lotus lamp, symbolizing illumination for all beings and the radiance of Buddha’s light. The structure and decoration are harmoniously integrated, with layers upon layers of craftsmanship. The sixteen corners are adorned with delicate designs. The inner walls depict 118 small Buddha images. At the very top is enshrined a relic of Shakyamuni Buddha, brought from Xi'an.

Upon entering the pagoda door, you will see a 2.7-meter-tall stone statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, solemn, dignified, and compassionate. Gazing upon it brings a sense of peace, comfort, and joy.

The Thousand Buddha Pagoda features an innovative design and unique shape, and is the only one of its kind in the Shuotong region.
