Hawthorn Garden in Qinghe County

A national 2A-level scenic area. Located in the Xiaqinghe River Valley Forest Scenic Area, 8 kilometers southeast of Qinghe County, it is a major highlight of the county’s forest tourism resources.

The scenic area is composed of two parts: the Xiaqinghe Plain River Valley Forest and the Birch Forest, located near the main transportation route, S228. The planned area of the Xiaqinghe Plain River Valley Forest Scenic Area is 666.7 hectares. Locally known in Mongolian as “Xiaoqinggele River,” meaning “beautiful river,” the Xiaqinghe originates from numerous short, transverse valleys on the southern slopes of the eastern section of the Altai Mountains. It meanders like a blue ribbon through the upper valley, flanked by broad valleys and basins.

Construction of the Hawthorn Garden Tourist Area began in May 2007, was completed and opened to visitors in September 2008. To date, over 1.8 million yuan has been invested. The area features a two-story brick-concrete restaurant, three wooden cabins connected by wooden boardwalks, as well as recreational facilities such as a chess and card room and a karaoke hall. The entire scenic area integrates dining, entertainment, and leisure vacation experiences.
