Tianlai Jiayi Scenic Area in Xinhe County is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Jiayi Village in Xinhe County is the most distinctive local ethnic handicraft center for traditional musical instrument making in Xinjiang and has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage protection project.

The residential houses of Jiayi villagers and the core area of the scenic spot highlight the simple and rugged architectural features unearthed from the Western Regions, while also embodying the typical building traditions of Uyghur homes in southern Xinjiang. In particular, the main exhibition area combines the solemn grandeur of Western Region fortresses with the majestic charm of the Han and Tang dynasties. It draws inspiration from the ancient Kucha cave art, showcasing the style and grandeur of Kucha grottoes.

To better inherit and promote local ethnic folk culture and establish the cultural tourism brand of "China's No.1 Village for Uyghur Handmade Musical Instrument Making in Xinjiang," the scenic area integrates ethnic styles and Chinese craftsmanship, combining intangible cultural heritage preservation, artistic education, and patriotic education. It truly stands as a gem of Xinjiang’s folk culture and arts and a top tourist destination. Tianlai Jiayi Scenic Area in Xinhe County was promoted to a national AAA-level tourist attraction in September 2014.

(1) Royal Palace Tour: The scenic area is divided into three visiting zones: the Kucha Museum exhibition area themed around Kucha culture, the Royal Palace exhibition area themed around the King of Kuqa, and the Royal Tomb tour area themed around the “Han” city walls.

(2) Tianlai Jiayi Scenic Area in Xinhe County: It is divided into three main parts: the Visitor Reception Center, the Core Area, and the Homestay Household Area. The Visitor Reception Center includes office areas, a reception hall, a large vehicle parking lot, an eco-friendly parking lot, and a horse carriage transfer point. The Core Area is divided into ten sections: mainly including the Echoes of Kucha, Ethnic Music and Dance, Intangible Cultural Heritage Showcase, Central Exhibition Area, Music-Cave, Musicians’ Cave, Miniature Landscapes, Western Region Culture, Ethnic Customs, and the Grandeur of Xinhe. There are six main homestay households, represented by Ai Yitiming, a national-level intangible cultural heritage inheritor.

The production of ethnic musical instruments in Jiayi Village and the ethnic music and dance in Tashai'erke Township both belong to the "Kucha Music and Dance" cultural system. This serves as an important way for local farmers to increase their income and is also a highlight of Xinhe County’s ethnic folk arts. To inherit and protect this nearly lost art of handmade ethnic musical instrument making, it was included in the second batch of autonomous region-level intangible cultural heritage protection lists in 2006 and in the fourth batch of national intangible cultural heritage protection lists in June 2008. Tianlai Jiayi Scenic Area was successfully rated as a national AAA-level scenic area in January 2015.

The construction funds for Tianlai Jiayi Scenic Area mainly come from three sources: aid funds from Lishui, Zhejiang, special tourism funds from the autonomous region, and county fiscal allocations. Built to the standards of a national 4A-level tourist attraction, the project includes three parts: the Ethnic Musical Instrument Exhibition Center, the Tourism Shopping Street, the Tourism Leisure Park, and specialty farmhouse dining; the Visitor Reception Center, the Musical Instrument Sales Hall, and the Eco-friendly Parking Lot; and the Western Region Culture Exhibition Area. The design concept of the Jiayi Village project draws on Silk Road culture, Kucha Music and Dance grotto culture, and the essence of Uyghur ethnic customs, staying close to natural life and reflecting traditional Uyghur culture.
