General Sirkak's Tomb

General Sirkak's Tomb is built from large natural cobblestones and is quite expansive. Legend has it that Sirkak was an important military general under Manas, fighting alongside him on many battlefields. He died a heroic death for the cause of justice, and his remains were buried on the banks of the Toshkan River. To honor his memory, local people would slaughter cattle and sheep at his resting place as a form of tribute, year after year without interruption. To this day, the area around his tomb is stained with animal blood, and animal horns and round stones are placed atop the grave. These round stones are also quite peculiar—about the size of watermelons, perfectly spherical like shot puts, with black shells. It seems they were brought from elsewhere, as locals do not know where these stones originated.
