The Moyu Old Town Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Moyu Old Town Scenic Area is located in Kuonaxiehai’er Community, Qinaibage Subdistrict, Moyu County. It is 25 kilometers from Hotan Airport, 3 kilometers from Moyu Railway Station, and adjacent to National Highway 315, making it very convenient for transportation.

In the Moyu Old Town Scenic Area, visitors can admire traditional Uyghur residential architecture, which is distinctive and uniquely styled. In the central area of the scenic spot, the first-floor storefronts are lined with representative specialty tourism products. A wide array of unique items such as Atlas silk, Uyghur small floral caps, carpets, wood carvings, and jade stones are on display, offering visitors a chance to experience the area’s distinctive local folk culture.

Within the Moyu Old Town Scenic Area lies a brightly lit destination called Bulak Night Market. Here, a rich variety of delicious foods await, including the famously nutritious “Three Eggs and One Star” (grilled chicken egg, grilled goose egg, and grilled pigeon egg), as well as mouthwatering specialties such as watermelon kebabs, rose willow skewers, grilled squab, whole roasted lamb, and unique grilled fish. There are also roasted pumpkins known as “longevity fruits,” freshly pressed pomegranate juice, delicious yogurt-filled zongzi (sticky rice dumplings), and seasonal fruit and vegetable platters... Here, you can enjoy song and dance performances while immersing yourself in local folk culture, savoring specialty foods. Families can also let their children play in the leisure area.

Stepping into the old town is like entering a vivid scroll painting of Uyghur customs and culture. Walking along the main streets and alleys offers a diverse experience of local market culture. The balconies on either side create the feeling of an aerial garden. Visiting the uniquely characteristic Uyghur home-stay spots allows you to sip on a cup of traditional Uyghur herbal tea brewed by locals, offering a moment of pause to feel a different kind of charm. You can also admire the uniquely styled Uyghur family courtyards, decorated with distinctive flair. Sitting cross-legged, you can enjoy a bowl of delicious homemade noodles or a delicate plate of pilaf while taking in the historic ambiance of the old town. At the same time, you can join hospitable Uyghur locals in dancing a unity folk dance, the “Meshrep,” or sharing a toast with the ethnic unity drink “Museles,” deepening ethnic bonds and friendship.
