Fossil Valley

Fossil Valley is part of the Wucangwan Scenic Area, located in the Junggar Basin. This area was once an ocean, with dense primeval forests along its shores. Over time, due to geological changes, vast forests and other flora and fauna were buried deep underground. They turned into fossils and eventually resurfaced. In this fossil valley, there is a spectacular forest of petrified wood, as well as fossils of various tree seeds, fruit fossils, and a variety of animal fossils.
