The Wucaiwan Hot Springs are located in the heart of the desert (Gurbantünggüt Desert) in the northern part of Jimusaer County, Xinjiang, 115 kilometers from the county seat. The geographical coordinates are 88°49′26.9″ east longitude and 44°45′48.3″ north latitude, at an altitude of 474.57 meters. It can be directly accessed via G216. These hot springs were drilled between August 2 and October 16, 1982, by the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration as an exploration well to investigate stratum structure, lithology, and gas content. The well is 1,800 meters deep.

According to a report by the Xinjiang Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, titled “Evaluation of Water Resources and Their Medical Value,” the physical properties of the hot springs are as follows: water temperature of 75°C, water age of approximately 300–350 million years, classified as ancient marine sedimentary water, with a mineralization level of 16.43 grams per liter, pH value of 7.55, flow rate of 280 cubic meters per day, and flow pressure of 188.42 kilograms per square centimeter. It is a high-pressure, self-spraying, high-flow hot spring. The water is rich in trace elements such as lithium, strontium, boron, as well as components like silicic acid, calcium chloride, and sodium, making it a high-quality composite medical mineral water. Bathing in it can dilate blood vessels, promote blood circulation and metabolism, and improve limb flexibility. It has significant therapeutic effects on rheumatoid arthritis, joint stiffness, muscle paralysis, and arteriosclerosis.
