Bronze Gorge Golden Bay Tourist Area

Guide Golden Bay Tourist Area is located in Bronze Gorge Town, Qingtongxia City, Ningxia, adjacent to Qingtongxia Bird Island and facing the Buddhist sacred site of Niushou Mountain across the river. It borders the Yellow River to the east and extends to National Highway 109 to the west, situated 80 kilometers from Yinchuan City, covering an area of 17,000 mu. The area boasts stunning natural scenery. Here, the usually turbulent Yellow River takes on a gentle demeanor, transforming into a serene and graceful maiden in Golden Bay, quietly displaying her elegant form. The distant mountains, the Yellow River, and the golden sands blend harmoniously, creating a captivating landscape.

Golden Bay Tourist Area was originally an agricultural eco-tourism park. As early as 1994, it began as the Tengjiawan Agricultural Comprehensive Development Experimental Demonstration Farm, pioneering integrated agricultural development that combined eco-tourism, farming, forestry, water conservancy, animal husbandry, and fisheries. In 1996, a floating pump station and a first-level gravity irrigation system were constructed. By 1999, a first-level reservoir and a 1,500-mu water-saving irrigation system primarily featuring drip, spray, and pipe irrigation were completed. In 2001, it was officially named Golden Bay Tourist Area. In 2002, as part of a Japan-aided comprehensive demonstration project, the development area expanded to 7,000 mu, of which 5,000 mu adopted a Spanish intelligent irrigation management system, excluding a 2,000-mu fenced area.

Whether it’s the Rose Pool with its azure waters and blue skies or the sweet and tender red grapes, the scenery will leave you enchanted and reluctant to leave. Currently, in addition to a range of agricultural eco-tourism activities, the area also offers a variety of distinctive local experiences such as sand sliding, horse riding, camel riding, rafting on sheepskin boats, speedboat surfing, fishing, beach volleyball, and beach soccer.

Transportation From downtown Wuzhong, take the route through Jijin Town, Bronze Gorge Town, and cross the Bronze Gorge Yellow River Bridge onto National Highway 109. Continue to the south of the Qingtongxia Aluminum Plant, at the intersection of National Highway 109 and National Highway 201, where you will find the entrance to Golden Bay Tourist Area.

Bronze Gorge Town: Bronze Gorge Town got its name from the construction of the Yellow River Bronze Gorge Water Control Project in 1958. It is located 19 kilometers south of Xiaoba, the seat of Qingtongxia City Government in Ningxia. The town administers six neighborhood committees: Shangba Road, Kanshi, Xinmin, Xin Qiao, Limin, and Jiefang Road, as well as three village committees: Caohe, Wosha, and Yuqiao, comprising 26 villager groups.
