The main peak of Heyeping, located 38 kilometers northeast of the county town, stands at an elevation of 2,784 meters and covers an area of over 30,000 mu, making it the highest point in northwestern Shanxi and the largest alpine meadow in North China. Surrounding Heyeping are 82 mu of pristine secondary forest and 660,000 mu of highland grass slopes. With daytime temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius in summer, it is an ideal destination for escaping the heat and for tourism.
