Yellow River Qingshui Bay Scenic Area, commonly known as "Where the Yellow River Takes a Turn," lies against the Xiao Jishi Mountain to the north and faces the surging waters of the Yellow River to the south. The terrain here is rugged and precipitous. With a mild climate and long hours of sunlight, the area bursts with green foliage, lush vegetation, birdsong, and floral fragrance in spring, summer, and autumn, offering a delightful "hidden paradise" ambiance. The surrounding area is dotted with numerous tourist attractions. The strikingly bright red rock formations of Xiao Jishi Mountain rise proudly with unique shapes—some resembling pagodas, others fortresses, and still others like upright roosters. The crimson rocks contrast beautifully with the blue waters, creating magnificent Danxia scenery. At the foot of the nearby mountain lies a deep abyss resembling a crevice. Standing inside, you’re shaded from the sun, and when you look up, only a “crescent moon” of sky is visible, giving the sensation of being in a heavenly realm on Earth. A magical legend surrounds its origin, said to be the dwelling place of a Tibetan—Xie Ji Yangong—making it a notable cultural attraction. Across the river lies the “Treasure Island” of Qingshui Bay, surrounded by water on all sides. It is the only part of the Yellow River bed in the county that is exposed above ground. The “island” is covered with uniquely shaped pebble-sized Yellow River stones. In spring and summer, the stones are blanketed with green grass and dotted with wildflowers, while various birds nest here. From a distance, it looks like a colorful cloth floating on the river. On weekends and holidays, visitors flock here to camp, swim, fish, barbecue, and hunt for unique stones. Recently, to enhance visitor leisure experiences, plans have been made to build a cable car here, allowing tourists to soar across the Yellow River from the opposite bank and land directly on the island—adding an extra layer of adventure.
