Former Site of Wenxingxiang Trading Firm

The former site of the Wenxingxiang Trading Firm is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Wenxingxiang Trading Firm is situated at the intersection of Qiyang Road and Renmin Road in Yuxi City, covering an area of 715.29 square meters. It was built in the 1930s by Guo Xingmin, a native of Yuxi, and served as a trading firm for exchanging cotton yarn for cloth. It is a representative example of Sino-Western architectural fusion in the form of a "five-courtyard rooftop" building, and is the only well-preserved modern architectural structure in Yuxi City, boasting significant historical, artistic, and scientific value. In 2003, the former site of the "Wenxingxiang" Trading Firm was designated as a Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit. On March 5, 2013, it was listed as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the State Council.
