Jingxing Ancient Town is located in the hilly area 12 kilometers east of Lingshi County, Shanxi Province. It faces the Mianshan Mountain to the east, overlooks the Fenhe River to the west, borders Jiexiu to the north, and adjoins Mahexiang Township of the same county to the south. The surrounding area features crisscrossing ravines and terraced fields, sitting at an altitude of over 900 meters. The terrain resembles a pair of breasts — high enough to avoid strong winds, yet low enough to retain water. The land is fertile and rich in produce. It can be described as a “feng shui treasure” blessed with serene mountain views, idyllic countryside, and peaceful surroundings.

Located 12 kilometers northeast of Lingshi County in Shanxi, Jingxing Town sits at the foot of the picturesque Mianshan Mountain. Nestled against the mountain and close to the water, a main street runs from east to west, while nine valleys, eight forts, and eighteen streets and alleys are scattered at the foot of the northern hills. Ancient architectural complexes such as the Wang Family Courtyard, Hongmiao Temple, and Wenbi Pagoda, which are clustered along the banks of the Xiaoshui River, bear witness to the long history and culture of Jingxing. They showcase a profound traditional cultural heritage and a rich humanistic landscape. The surviving shops, pawnshops, wells, stone-paved paths, and stages still faintly echo the prosperity and unique cultural charm of ancient Jingxing.

Jingxing Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Lingshi County. In 1958, the Jingxing Commune was established, and in 1984, it was upgraded to a town. It is located in the northeastern part of the county, 15 kilometers from the county seat. National Highway 108 passes through the town. The town administers 16 village committees: Jingxing, Qijie, Jiguang, Yinfang, Suxi, Nanpu, Nanyuan, Caoqiao, Hougou, Shuaijiashan, Liushuyuan, Jinduan??, Jiaozhong, Shijiashan, Hetaowa, and Tuhuangpo. Local enterprises are engaged in coal mining, coking, transportation, and construction. The main agricultural products are wheat, corn, millet, and vegetables. Historical sites include burial grounds from the Shang Dynasty, as well as Zishou Temple, Confucius Temple, Wenfeng Pagoda, and Kuixing Tower in Suxi Village.
