Tongguan has been one of the important waystations along the ancient Tea Horse Road since ancient times, serving as a major trade route for the exchange of goods in the southwest. The ancient streets, horse inns, merchant houses, residences, and cultural relics of Tongguan are well preserved. The scenic area “Jinma Tongguan” is grand and majestic, surrounded by green mountains. From here, you can gaze at the endless stretches of the Ailao Mountain Range, watch the sunrise, view the sea of clouds, overlook the ancient town and the scattered villages. Here, you can walk along the ancient Tea Horse Road, visit the historic tea port town, and almost hear the continuous sound of horse bells from the old days echoing around you.
