Former Residence of Zhou Dawen

The former residence of Zhou Dawen is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Zhou Dawen, also known as "Zhou Mansion," is located on the south side of Heping Street in Weicheng, Zhenyuan County. It was originally a residence built by Zhou Bingyuan, Zhou Dawen’s grandfather, in the early years of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty. Covering an area of 1,250 square meters, the residence is a traditional courtyard house surrounded by high firewalls, featuring both front and rear courtyards, as well as a front hall, rear hall, and wing rooms. A golden plaque inscribed with the words "Former Residence of Zhou Dawen," written by Comrade Wu Xiuquan, hangs above the entrance of the front hall.

At the center of the main hall stands a marble statue of Zhou Dawen. To the left is his living quarters, furnished with traditional wooden beds and cabinets; to the right is an exhibition hall, which features illustrated display boards and glass cases that provide a detailed introduction to Zhou Dawen’s life and the underground Communist Party branch in Zhenyuan. The exhibition also displays a letter from Stalin to Zhou Dawen, Zhou Dawen’s autobiography, and photographs of members of the underground Communist Party branch in Zhenyuan. The former residence is also the site of the former underground Communist Party branch in Zhenyuan.
