Cangfeng Cliff Cliff Carvings are located in Yangcun Village, Duru Town, Wuchuan County, about 2.5 kilometers from the county seat. Legend has it that a phoenix once perched here in ancient times, hence the name "Cangfeng Rock" (Phoenix-Hiding Rock). The Cangfeng Cliff Cliff Carvings derive their name from the inscriptions carved on Cangfeng Rock. Cangfeng Rock runs from north to south, is composed of limestone, and measures approximately 600 meters in length and 26 meters in height. The two characters “Ling Ya” (灵崖, meaning “Spirit Cliff”) of the Cangfeng Cliff Cliff Carvings are inscribed on the upper right side of the central part of the cliff face, about 8 meters above the ground. They are horizontally arranged, carved in relief in running script. Each character is 4.1 meters tall and 3.2 meters wide, with 6 meters between them. The signature “Written by Long Weizuo” is colored with cinnabar. Long Weizuo was the then-county magistrate of Wuchuan. The two characters “Ling Ya” were carved in the 15th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1810).
