Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Eco-Tourism Area

The Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Eco-Tourism Area is located in the Maijia River basin in the southwest of Baiyun District, under the jurisdiction of Yan Shan Hong Township and Maijia Township. It borders the Baiyun Campus of Guizhou Normal University, Xiayan Village, and Dashandong to the east, extending all the way to the S104 Provincial Highway from Guiyang to Xiuwen. In the near future, this tourism area has the potential to be developed into a national agricultural tourism demonstration site.

The advantages of the Ten-Thousand-Mu Flower Base tourism site mainly include: first, it has a superior natural geographical environment suitable for the growth of flowers and plants. Second, Baiyun District successfully hosted the National Kite Competition and the 9th Baiyun Kite Festival, as well as the 11th China (Guiyang) Orchid International Expo, giving initial shape to the tourism image of “Forest City of Guiyang, Sea of Flowers in Baiyun.” Third, building on the success of the Orchid Expo, over 30 flower developers (Guiyang currently has more than 40 flower enterprises) have settled in Baiyun District to develop flower production, and the flower industry has initially taken shape. Fourth, the surrounding scenic spots of the flower tourism area are diverse, facilitating the formation of a tourism network, and the landscapes within the tourism area are quite appealing. Yinpo is a small hill located in the center of the scenic area, serving as an excellent natural viewing platform; water features include the Maijia River, Longquan Spring, and two natural lakes, where activities such as fishing and other water-based leisure entertainment can be enjoyed; three leisure resorts have been built; and to the north of the tourism area are four rural villages where visitors can experience “agritainment.”
