Yijian – Anping Site is a cultural heritage site protected by Shanxi Province.

Yijian – Anping Site (Third Batch of Provincial Protected Sites)

Era: Neolithic Age – Western Zhou Dynasty

Location: Within the two natural villages of Anping and Yijian in Zhongduo Township, Ji County

The Yijian Site is a settlement site from the late Neolithic Age, covering a total area of 6 square kilometers. Remains such as pottery kilns, ash pits, and small loess cave dwellings can be found along the gullies to the west and east of the village, while the area from the western to the northern part of the village is a cemetery. During surveys, artifacts such as double-handled pottery jars and shoulderless basins were discovered, and items such as jade bi discs and pottery basins have been unearthed in the cemetery.

Anping served as a cemetery during the Western Zhou Dynasty, where bronze artifacts such as bronze ding vessels were excavated. These are now housed in the National Palace Museum in Taiwan and are believed to date back to the times of the Zhou Shushuo and Zhou Shuyu.
