Duopogou, located to the south of Mount Que’er, is like a maiden secluded in a deep boudoir—beautiful and mysterious.

Duopogou is enveloped in clouds and mist all year round. On mountain peaks, along slopes, and through river valleys, gossamer-like mists shift with extreme gentleness. Every inch of land, every tree, and every sprig of grass in Duopogou looks so fresh and misty in the sunlight, so graceful under the moonlight. The rivers are enchanting, the trees graceful, the flowers tender... All of these elements make Duopogou even more mysterious. Duopogou is a rare natural ecological canyon in the Kham region, situated in the pristine wilderness area stretching upward from Maixu Township along the Puma route. The entire Duopogou eco-tourism area spans 1,112 square kilometers. Traveling upriver along the Maiqu River from the Dingmai Highway, you pass through an endless expanse of ecological canyons. The lush green shrubs are intoxicating, while scattered azaleas, peach, and plum blossoms fill the air with fragrance, lifting your spirits. Here, emerald-green mountains and murmuring streams endure year-round, as if you’ve entered another world.

Along the way, the scenery varies at every turn—rugged yet brimming with purity and charm. In hollows and on ridges, hot springs and lakes are scattered like pearls—radiant and crystal clear. This is the homeland of highland barley wine and Guozhuang dance. Everywhere, you can hear the slow, melodious sounds of string instruments and lively, graceful singing and dancing. The men are rugged and bold, the women delicate and affectionate.
