Aba Zhuokeji Tusi Official Residence

The Aba Zhuokeji Tusi Official Residence is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, a key cultural relic protection unit of China, and a classic red tourism destination.

The Zhuokeji Tusi Official Residence is located beside National Highway 317, in Zhuokeji Town, 8 kilometers from Barkam City. It sits on a highland at the confluence of the Somo River and the Xisuo River, and is also the junction of the roads from Barkam to Chengdu and to Xiaojin, 354 kilometers from Chengdu. The Tusi Official Residence, also known as the Tusi Office or Tusi Mansion, was the political center within the Tusi’s jurisdiction and a symbol of the Tusi's power and status. The Zhuokeji Tusi Official Residence was initially built during the Qing Dynasty. The residence faces southwest and is situated to the northeast, with a total construction area of 5,400 square meters. It is a typical example of Jiarong Tibetan architecture, laid out in a Han-style quadrangle structure. The main northern building has a false six floors, the east and west wing rooms have five floors each, with a central courtyard, totaling 63 rooms of various sizes. In 1988, the Zhuokeji Official Residence was listed by the State Council as part of the third group of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level. In 2005, it was included in the list of 100 Classic Red Tourism Attractions in China.

Climate characteristics: Plateau continental monsoon climate, with main features including distinct dry and rainy seasons, unclear seasonal divisions, no real summer in most areas, abundant sunshine, large temperature differences, and frequent strong winds during the dry season. The annual average temperature is 8–9°C, with annual precipitation of around 753 mm, over 1,500 hours of sunshine, and an absolute frost-free period of about 120 days.

Honors: In 1988, the Zhuokeji Official Residence was listed by the State Council as part of the third group of Major Historical and Cultural Sites Protected at the National Level. In 2005, it was included in the list of 100 Classic Red Tourism Attractions in China.

Protected area: The protected boundary is based on the outer wall of the main building of the residence, extending north to the edge of the road on the north side of the residence, 18.4 meters east to the east courtyard wall, 15 meters south to the newly built south courtyard wall, and 14.8 meters west to the pedestrian path on the west side.

Construction control zone: North to the southern bank of the Somo River, east to 50 meters beyond the protected area up to the 2,683-meter elevation earthen ridge, south to 50 meters beyond the protected area, and west to the eastern bank of the Nazigou Valley.
