The Songgang Kopan Tianjie Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Songgang Kopan Tianjie Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is located in Songgang Town, Barkam City, about 12 kilometers from Barkam City, covering a total area of approximately 1.2 square kilometers. The entire cultural tourism scenic area consists of the ruins of the Songgang Tusi Official Residence, Kopan Tianjie, the ancient watchtowers of Songgang, the Zhibo Ancient City, the Mosudu Rock Paintings, the Roe Deer Farm, the Chinese Honeybee Conservation Farm, the Hu Di Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Square, and more.

Among them, Kopan Tianjie includes the ruins of the Songgang Tusi Official Residence, two official residence watchtowers, 37 Jiarong-style residential houses, and one Sichuan God Temple. This scenic area features 34 types of tourism offerings such as Tibetan cuisine, bars, tea bars, unique ethnic guesthouses, leisure and entertainment, shopping, and cultural performances (including a wedding custom exhibition of the Tusi’s daughter’s marriage), making it an ideal place for visitors to experience the culture of the Jiarong Tibetans. The Hu Di Revolutionary Martyrs' Memorial Square, with its sculpture named “Gazing North,” was completed in October 2018. On October 25, 2018, -- decided to designate the square as a “National -- Education Base.” The Zhibo Watchtower has been listed as a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit; the Mosudu Rock Paintings have been included in the Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units; the Roe Deer Farm is the largest artificial roe deer breeding farm in Asia; and the Aba Chinese Honeybee has been listed as a China National Geographical Indication Product.

The iconic structure of Barkam Kopan Tianjie — the Songgang Zhibo Ancient Watchtower — is a nationally protected watchtower built during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It is constructed of stone and wood, tapering upwards in a truncated cone shape. The two watchtowers are 30 meters apart, with one octagonal tower reaching 43 meters in height. For over half a century, it has leaned 2.3 meters but has withstood three major earthquakes without collapsing, earning it the nickname “China’s Leaning Tower of Pisa.”

Songgang Town: A township under the jurisdiction of Barkam County. The Songgang District was established in 1952, changed to a commune in 1965, and became Songgang Township in 1984. It is located in the southern part of the county, 12 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 224 square kilometers with a population of 2,000, it is traversed by National Highway 317. The township administers eight village committees: Mosudu, Luowei, Danbo, Hapiao, Zhibo, Songgang, Pu’erma, and Qili. The main agricultural products are wheat, highland barley, and corn.
