Introduction to the First Qiang Village of Aba About 120 kilometers along National Highway 213 from Chengdu, at the foot of the legendary Mount Shiniu—birthplace of Yu the Great—lies the First Qiang Village of Aba (Pioneer Village, Mianchi Town). It is a riverside Qiang village that preserves ancient customs well, boasts beautiful scenery and rich cultural charm, and is the closest Qiang settlement to Chengdu. The entire village is built along the slope in an orderly and unique layout resembling an ancient fortress. The ground is connected by winding alleys, with rooftops linked from house to house, while the Qiang watchtowers stand proudly in the center of the village. The Qiang women in the village are skilled artisans, creating a wide variety of high-quality Qiang embroidery rich in ethnic character and local flavor. Coupled with orchards, Qiang songs, and Qiang dances, the experience offers a feeling as if one has stepped back in time.

Mianxi Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Wenchuan County. It served as the county seat of Wenchuan in 1512, was restructured as a commune in 1958, changed to a township in 1980, and merged with Yulong Township in 1992 to form Mianrong Town. Located in the northeastern part of the county, it is 15 kilometers from the county seat. Covering an area of 248 square kilometers, it has a population of 9,000. National Highway 213 passes through the town.
