Longxi Qiang People's Valley
Longxi Qiang People's Valley has a rich historical and cultural background as the settlement area of the ancient Rangyu tribe of the Qiang people. During the Tang Dynasty, Longxi was called Bazhou, and the mountain still features the time-worn ruins of the ancient Bazhou city, among which Dongmenzhai is also part of the Bazhou city site from the Tang and Song periods. As early as over 2,000 years ago, the Qiang people were world-famous for their outstanding architectural artistry. Their villages were typically built along mountains and rivers, with clusters of ten or dozens of households living close together. They constructed their homes with stone, connected by rope bridges and plank walkways, forming fortified settlements built on strategic high grounds, relying on these natural defenses to survive.
In Qiang People's Valley, more than half of the residents can speak the Qiang language, and the area has the highest number of "Shibi" (local religious specialists) in all Qiang regions. Therefore, during post-earthquake reconstruction, the local government leveraged this unique cultural resource to develop Longxi into an attractive town known as the “Heritage Site of Shibi Culture and the Last Qiang People’s Valley.”
Bazhou Town: In 2019, Keku Township and Longxi Township were abolished and merged to establish Bazhou Town, with the administrative region of the new Bazhou Town covering the former areas of both Keku and Longxi. The Bazhou Town People's Government is located at No. 1 Longxi Street. … Bazhou Town detailed information++
