Shuimo Ancient Town is a classic red tourism destination.

Shuimo Ancient Town is located on the Shouxi River, a tributary of the Minjiang River in the southern part of Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province. As early as the Shang Dynasty, it was known as the "Land of Longevity" and was called Old People's Village before being renamed Shuimo, which remains its name to this day.

Shuimo Town is a cultural intersection of Han and ethnic minorities, enriched during post-disaster reconstruction with profound elements from Guangdong. The local inland style harmonizes with Tibetan and Qiang cultures, while Western Sichuan’s humanistic essence and Buddhist traditions shine side by side. After the 5.12 earthquake, the reconstructed Shuimo Ancient Town features three major areas: Chan Shou Old Street, Shou West Lake, and Qiang City. It is where ancient and modern history blend, Sichuan and Guangdong development philosophies merge, and Tibetan-Qiang cultural heritage abounds — a vivid "ink painting" depicting "high mountains and deep valleys, shimmering lakes and mountain scenery, ancient streets in clusters, and vibrant local flavor." It is hailed as the premier town rebuilt after the Wenchuan Earthquake.
