The first floor serves as the tourist reception center for visitors to Wenchuan County; the second floor houses the Wenchuan History and Culture Exhibition Hall, which officially opened to the public on April 19, 2011. The exhibition hall is divided into five sections: "Six Millennia of History," "Ancient Qiang Homeland," "Urban Footprints," "Red Wenchuan," and "Qiang Culture." Through thematic displays, it presents the most shining and distinctive fragments from Wenchuan’s long history. The hometown of Yu the Great, the land of pandas, and the home of Qiang embroidery leave visitors in awe of the rich cultural heritage left by the Qiang, Han, Tibetan, Hui, and other ethnic groups over centuries on this magical land. These exhibits showcase the brilliant and splendid chapters of civilization, offering visitors a deeper understanding of Wenchuan’s profound historical and cultural roots. The third floor features an exhibition on the post-disaster reconstruction achievements in Wenchuan supported by Guangdong Province. It is divided into five parts: "Prelude," "Warm Care & Wise Decisions," "Respecting Laws & Scientific Planning," "Overcoming Hardships & Creating Miracles," and "Reborn from the Ashes & Still Beautiful." It allows people across the country to fully appreciate the wise decision made by the Party Central Committee and the State Council to launch the paired assistance mechanism after the "5.12 Wenchuan Earthquake." It also highlights the great love and support from Guangdong, which traveled thousands of miles to assist Wenchuan, helping its people overcome hardships together and creating the "Wenchuan Speed" and "Wenchuan Experience." Visitors can witness the tremendous changes in Wenchuan and remember the gratitude while striving forward. A unique gratitude culture with Wenchuan characteristics has been firmly established—"gratitude to the Party, the people, the support teams, society, and family." This exhibition writes a magnificent epic of earthquake relief and post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, fully demonstrating the superiority of the socialist system and the strong vitality of socialism with Chinese characteristics in political, economic, cultural, and social aspects. It further enhances the national confidence and pride of people of all ethnicities across the country.
