Highlights

Seasonal Lakes: The water levels of these lakes fluctuate with the seasons—abundant in autumn with deep blue waters, shallow in summer with emerald-green hues, dried up after early winter, and covered in lush grass in spring, turning into natural grazing grounds.

Five-Color Pond: The upper part of the pond is azure blue while the lower part is orange-red, displaying a dazzling array of colors in a small, exquisite body of water that rivals the Five-Flower Lake in Rize Valley. Long Lake: Stretching 7.5 kilometers from north to south and 500 meters wide, with a depth of over 80 meters, it is the largest lake in Jiuzhaigou. It has no outflow and relies on evaporation and underground seepage to drain. Even during heavy rain in summer and autumn, the lake never overflows, and during prolonged droughts in winter and spring, it never dries up. The local Tibetans praise it as a “magic gourd that can never be filled or drained.” In the depths of winter, it becomes an ideal spot for ice sports. Introduction

The Zhicha Wa Gully Section, stretching nearly 18 kilometers from Nuorilang Hotel to Long Lake, is the longest and highest-altitude scenic route among the four main routes in Jiuzhaigou, with attractions concentrated at the end of the valley. Attractions include: Lower Seasonal Lake, Upper Seasonal Lake, Five-Color Pond, and Long Lake. Transportation: After entering the valley, you can take the environmentally friendly sightseeing bus or explore on foot. The recommended visiting route is: Upper Seasonal Lake, Lower Seasonal Lake – Five-Color Pond – Long Lake.
