Mirror Lake has three wonders: first, “fish swim in the clouds and birds fly in the water,” where reflections surpass the real scenery; second, shimmering water ripples; third, the moonlit night of Mirror Lake.

Mirror Lake is about 1 kilometer long, narrow in shape, and surrounded by forests. It is located in the Rize Valley, connected upstream to the Mirror Lake Valley and adjacent downstream to the Nuorilang Lakes.

Mirror Lake is so flat and mirror-like that it earned this name. Like a mirror, it perfectly reflects the scenery from both the ground and sky onto the water’s surface, and its reflections are unmatched across Jiuzhaigou.

At an elevation of 2,390 meters, Mirror Lake has an average depth of 11 meters, with the deepest point reaching 24.3 meters. Covering an area of 190,000 square meters, it is renowned for its calm waters. At dawn or when morning glow paints the sky, the blue sky, white clouds, distant mountains, and nearby trees are all mirrored beneath the surface, with clear outlines and vibrant colors.

Beside Mirror Lake grows a thick vine, as thick as a bowl’s rim, tightly climbing a towering tree, reaching the same height and stretching straight toward the sky. Standing under the tree stirs the imagination: the tree offers the vine warm shade, while the vine wraps the tree in tender affection.

That’s why Mirror Lake is also known as the “Love Park.” Lovers from afar often take photos here as a testament to their devotion.
