Guanghan Confucius Temple is a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit. It was first built during the Jiayou era of the Northern Song Dynasty, but was later destroyed in wartime. Over time, due to prolonged neglect, it fell into gradual disrepair and ruin. It was rebuilt in the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty, expanded during the Xuande and Tianshun eras, and underwent successive renovations in the Chenghua, Jiajing, Tianqi, and Chongzhen eras. The first year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty saw its reconstruction; it was rebuilt in the 11th year of the Qianlong reign (1746), and in the third year of the Jiaqing reign (1798) further repairs were made. In the 17th year of the Jiaqing reign (1812), it was reconstructed on a grander scale than before. The entire architectural complex features regulated layout, rigorous structure, majestic beauty, and exquisite craftsmanship. In front of the Halberd Gate stands a magnificent five-bay stone memorial archway called the "Lingxing Gate," adorned with rich patterns and finely carved details, making it a treasured piece of stonework art in western Sichuan.

The Dacheng Hall of Guanghan Confucius Temple houses exquisitely carved 18-panel partition doors and six large hollow-carved cloud-dragon stone pillars, which are truly rare. The surviving ancient structures such as the Lingxing Gate, Halberd Gate, Dacheng Hall, Minghuan Shrine, and the East and West Side Halls all hold significant historical and artistic value. In April 1991, Guanghan Confucius Temple was designated as a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit by the People's Government of Sichuan Province.
