The main gate and screen wall of the Shangshuyuan Academy are a protected cultural relic site in Guanghan City.

The main gate and screen wall of the Shangshuyuan Academy

[100 meters northwest of Sanshui Town • Qing Dynasty • Municipal (County) Cultural Relics Protection Unit], built during the Guangxu era (1875–1908) and renovated in the early years of the Republic of China. Facing south with a northern orientation, it covers an area of 210 square meters, with the current remaining structures being the screen wall and the main gate. The screen wall has a brick-and-stone structure, measuring 12.7 meters wide, 11.2 meters high, and 0.5 meters thick, with four landscape paintings carved in relief on top. The main gate is of wooden construction, spanning three bays totaling 12.7 meters in width, four bays deep with a depth of 7.1 meters, and a total height of 6.5 meters. The eave columns stand 4.4 meters tall with a diameter of 0.24 meters. It features a through-tenon beam frame and a flush-gable roof. In July 1990, it was designated as a municipal cultural relics protection unit in Guanghan.
