Wenxing Pagoda is a tower dedicated to the worship of the God of Literature, Wenchang. Legend has it that when the pagoda was being built, a beggar asked, “Which direction of the tower is heavier?” Someone replied, “The west side seems heavier.” The beggar said, “Good,” then vanished into the clouds. Since then, for hundreds of years, more talented individuals have emerged from the west side of the pagoda, and many people also choose the west side for property investment.
