Jushui Taiping Bridge

Jushui Taiping Bridge is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Taiping Bridge is located about 500 meters north of Jushui Town. An old couplet describes it: “A half-moon hangs before Yudong Mountain, a long rainbow lies beneath Tiger Head Rock.” Surrounded by mountains, the area enjoys a serene environment with blue skies, clear waters, and fresh air. To the south of the bridge is the Reclining Buddha Temple, about 100 meters north lies the road to Gaochuan Township, and around 1 kilometer east is Baishui Lake in the Anzhou National Water Conservancy Scenic Area.

In the past, Jushui was a key transportation route between Deyang, Mianzhu, and Maoxian. Every summer and autumn, when floods surged, locals suffered greatly while crossing the river. In the fourth year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1799), local gentry Lin Xianxiang initiated the construction of Taiping Bridge. After three years of hard work, the grand bridge was completed, bringing immense joy and excitement among the people, who spread the news eagerly. On the day of the Spring Society Festival, crowds gathered at the bridge to celebrate, worship, and pray, giving rise to a local tradition that has endured for over 200 years.

Protected area: East to the entrance of Taiping Street in Jushui Town, South to the drip line of the mountain gate of the Reclining Buddha Temple, West to the stream valley of Tiger Head Rock, North to the canal of the Second Main Channel.

Construction control zone: East to 20 meters beyond the protected area, South to the drip line of the mountain gate of the Reclining Buddha Temple, West to 20 meters beyond the protected area, North to the Xiushui–Gaochuan Highway.
