The Jujube Bark Corridor · Butterfly Valley is located in Sangzao Town, Anzhou District, Mianyang City, about 36 kilometers from downtown Anzhou, with a core area of approximately 3.5 square kilometers. On December 16, 2019, the Jujube Bark Corridor · Butterfly Valley was officially approved as a national 3A-level tourist attraction.

“Jujube Bark Corridor · Butterfly Valley” is situated at the strategic hub among the renowned scenic areas of Mount Luofu, Mount Qianfo, and Baishui Lake. The scenic area administers three provincial-level impoverished villages—Qixin, Lianghe, and Huangyang—with a core area of around 3.5 square kilometers. It is 36 kilometers from downtown Anzhou, 43 kilometers from the Anluo Road exit of the Chengdu–Mianyang Expressway Duplication Line, and 57 kilometers from Mianyang High-Speed Railway Station, making it highly accessible by transportation.

“Jujube Bark Corridor · Butterfly Valley” serves as a model and flagship project for rural tourism development in Anzhou District. Aiming to establish itself as a “rural tourism destination,” the scenic area emphasizes a “leisure + wellness” theme. With refined rural homestays, solid cultural-tourism integration, top-tier wellness services, and well-developed supporting amenities, it has largely achieved a virtuous, interactive development model between agriculture and tourism. In recent years, it has successively been honored with titles such as “Provincial-Level Support Demonstration Base,” “Sichuan Province Tourism Poverty Alleviation Demonstration Village,” and “Mianyang City Wellness Home.”

The scenic area boasts over 800,000 jujube bark trees spanning more than 1,000 acres, including more than 200 “century-old king jujube trees.” Jujube bark blooms with yellow flowers in spring and bears crimson fruit in autumn, and it is a precious traditional Chinese medicinal herb. Inside Butterfly Valley, you can find rare butterfly species such as dead leaf butterflies, black-veined tiger butterflies, and tiger-patterned butterflies. The valley enjoys a forest coverage rate of 95%, with an average annual temperature of 12 degrees Celsius. Various distinctive homestays are available in the area, where visitors can enjoy flower viewing in spring, water play in summer, fruit picking in autumn, and snow appreciation in winter.

Sangzao Town: Located within Mianyang City, Sangzao Town covers an area of 101 square kilometers, featuring a mix of mountains, hills, and plains. Agriculture mainly focuses on grain and oil crops, while cash crops include mulberry, tea, palm, and three-wood herbs, making it a major base for building materials in the county.

With a total population of 32,000, the town enjoys convenient transportation with National Highway G247 (Chengqing Highway) passing through it. It is widely known across Sichuan for the provincial-level scenic area—Mount Luofu—and attracts a steady stream of tourists throughout the year.
